Two of our locals are on TV this week, and last night one had good news, one had bad.

Leland Graham, the Winthrop University grad, made it through his second night on “Jeopardy,” winning back the right to come back in tonight’s episode for a third night of competition. Much like his first night, he led the pack for most of the night and came away with an easy win despite getting the Final Jeopardy question wrong (his competitor’s did, too).

Over on “Survivor,” Rock Hill native Jerry Sims exclaimed, “I’m finished!” at the end of the immunity challenge and blamed himself for their loss. As such, he was unanimously voted off the show by his tribemates. This makes me sad because I really liked what we saw of Jerry and hoped he’d go all the way.

But tune in to “Jeopardy” tonight and watch Leland go to work!

Ah ha! He was being coy! Rock Hill’s own Leland Graham had a terrific turn on “Jeopardy” last night, coming in first place after commanding the entire game from the third spot on Questioner’s Row.

Not only that, but I knew about 15% of the answers on last night’s board! That almost never happens. I feel very smart today.

I posted last week about the fact that there are a lot of local residents on reality tv lately. Well, you can add game shows to the list – tonight, Leland Graham, a Winthrop University grad now living in Rock Hill, will be appearing on “Jeopardy,” a show I’m not smart enough to watch. The show airs tonight at 7 p.m. on WCNC-TV, Comporium cable Channel 6.

As for how he did, he could just be toying with us, or he could just be letting us down easy, but he is quoted as telling The Herald:

He said he enjoys trivia but still found the show a challenge.

“No matter how strong you are at one thing or another,” he said, “there are going to be categories that aren’t suited to you.”
