Grand Opening: The Playroom Academy of Music
By Jane | December 1st, 2009 | Category: Spotlight | Comments OffOpening today in Baxter, the Playroom Academy of Music seeks to provide innovative musical teaching to it’s students. Led by “Eddie Z.,” the studio will not only provide in-person lessons, but will upload digital copies of the lessons for the students with which to follow-up until the next lesson.
Eddie Zimmerman is best known as the guitarist and co-founder of the band Charity Case, which has performed over 200 shows as part of the Ace and TJ’s Grin Kids charity, raising $670,000 to send chronically disabled and terminally ill children to Walt Disney World. During breaks from performing Eddie Z works with kids of all ages and skill levels to develop the dream of playing music.
Today the retail side of the Academy opens, with a January 2010 opening scheduled for the teaching studio. They can be found at 951 Market Street in Baxter Village in Fort Mill. Once the teaching studio opens in January they will be offering courses in such instruments as guitar, bass, vocals, piano, drums, mandolin and banjo in additional to traditional orchestral and bad instruments. They also plan on offering classes for those interested in music production and engineering. If you are interested in finding out more information, you can visit the Playroom Academy website.
