bootsshoessandalsThis weekend, August 7-9, 2009, is a tax-free shopping weekend in South Carolina. For those days only, all clothing (including hats, scarves, hosiery, and handbags), shoes, school supplies (including pens, pencils, paper, binders, notebooks, books, bookbags, lunchboxes, and calculators), computers (including software, printers and printer supplies), bed and bath products (including towels, blankets, bed spreads, bed linens, sheet sets, and comforter sets) can all be had without the hassle of paying sales tax. Time to hit the Gaffney Outlets!

Items NOT included in this tax-free weekend include jewelry (sorry guys – no buying the engagement ring this weekend to save some cash), cosmetics, eyewear, wallets, watches, and furniture. Also the tax-free deal doesn’t apply to items placed on layaway or similar deferred payment.

  1. Never been to Gaffney. Google maps shows it’s more than an hour from Fort Mill. It’s worth it to drive that far? What are some of your favorite shops there?

  2. Dana, you can check out the Gaffney outlet website here: http://www.primeoutlets.com/locations/gaffney.aspx They have a lot of shops and when my husband and I have been, we have been satisfied enough with our “loot” to make it worthwhile. Plus, you get to see the big giant peach when you drive to the Gaffney Outlets (a site not to be missed)!
