Two Foodie Events This Weekend!

I have two events that are taking place tomorrow that I need to tell you about! One is the “Carson’s Cure” Pancake Breakfast that will be at the Applebee’s on Dave Lyle Boulevard in Rock Hill from 7 a.m. -10 a.m. You can either show up at the door (breakfast is about $7 per person) or, if you can’t go, you can make a donation instead. Carson is a 2-year-old boy who was diagnosed with leukemia last year. The medical bills are staggering, and Carson’s brave mom has organized this breakfast as a fundraiser to help with those bills. They will be serving pancakes, 2 scrambled eggs, 2 sausage links, coffee, tea, and different kinds of soda. At the same time, there is going to be a bake sale on the side with chocolate chip cookies, orange cookies, mini cherry chese cakes, pecan bars, and blueberry muffins. Lastly, she has a raffle planned with some fun prizes (including a spa gift certificate). If you can’t go, I still encourage you to consider making a donation!

The second food related event is being hosted by Boy Scouts Troop 250. The scouts are presenting a combination barbecue, car wash and bake sale tomorrow from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church (corner of 160 and Gold Hill Road in Fort Mill). For a mere $8.00 per plate you get a barbecue sandwich, beans, slaw, chips & drink OR one pound of barbecue. All of the proceeds will help the scouts with their Jamboree fees.

So consider helping out these two great causes with your dollars, and reap the benefit of good food AND happiness knowing you’ve done your part!
