Ten Places I WON’T Retire Now

I remember a number of years ago that Asheville, NC was billed as the best place to retire. Then it got overrun, and the powers that be dubbed Phoenix and Las Vegas as the best places to retire. Well, look at Phoenix and Las Vegas now – tumbling house prices and a job market faltering just as much as ours.

Well, a new list of top 10 places to retire has come out. Which means that 1-2 new places have been added to my list of places I will never considering retiring to.

Here are 10 great affordable places to retire.

1. Binghamton, NY
2. Chattanooga, Tenn.
3. Cocoa, Fla.
4. Eau Claire, Wis.
5. Montgomery, Ala.
6. Omaha, Neb.
7. Pittsburgh, Penn.
8. Roswell, NM
9. San Antonio, Tex.
10. South Bend, Ind.

I don’t know that I’d ever put Wisconsin or Nebraska on my list, but now I know to avoid San Antonio, TX and Chattanooga, TN – two cities that I probably *would* consider moving to if I wasn’t planning on remaining in Fort Mill for the next 40-50 years.
