My Foray To Indian Land Today
By Jane | March 19th, 2009 | Category: Local Events | Comments OffI popped over to the new Harris Teeter on US 521 near Sun City in Indian Land this morning. The new store is very nice and even has a Starbucks inside! Sun City folks are lucky – their development has direct access to the HT shopping center! Sadly, I have no pictures – my Blackberry wasn’t cooperating this morning. However, rest assured that it’s a NICE new store and provides much needed variety for local shoppers in Indian Land. One local resident, however, attended the grand opening and took a couple pictures of the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
I also saw that the new Lowes home center is coming along nicely (it’ll be at the corner of 160/521). From the looks of things it may be open in a month or so if all goes well and DEFINITELY by Memorial Day or I’ll eat my hat (well, I would if I had one).
I saw folks setting up tents for the Sweet Repeats Kids Consignment Sale which starts this evening at 7 p.m. at the Indian Land Masonic Lodge (9189 Charlotte Hwy.
Indian Land, SC 29707). While this sale is usually designated as selling only kids’ stuff, this year they will also have a small “home” section and some adult clothing, so be sure to check it out – the sale runs from tonight through this weekend.
Lastly, in more Indian Land news, the Indian Land Band Boosters are sponsoring their 1st Annual 5k Fun Run on Saturday, March 28. You can register in advance, or just show up and register that morning. It’s an all ages run, and medals will be given to the top finishers in each age bracket. They are also planning a free 100-yard kids run at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $25 from now through the day of the race. If you want more info or want to print a copy of the registration form, head over to IndianLandBand.com.
