Sweet and Savory
By Jane | March 17th, 2009 | Category: Food News | Comments OffToday I headed over to Main Street and checked out two places. First up was the new candy shop, Sugar Face (217 Main Street). The place has been open for a couple months now, and it was my first opportunity to get over there. The space has great ambience and if the owners do indeed open it up for dine-in seating of any kind, it would be a great place for a quick get-together over coffee and cake. As for me, I bought some chocolate covered marshmallows and have been told they were fantastic (which I believe since they were devoured after dinner).
I also popped over to the restaurant formerly known as Corrigan’s Cafe. It was due to re-open today under new management. They had new signage up – the new place is called Vinnie’s – but the cafe was still shuttered. A note on the door said the place was closed until either today or tomorrow for renovations, but I didn’t see too much going on inside. With any luck they’ll reopen soon though – will keep you posted.
