All Signs Point To “Yes”

According to the Fort Mill Times, Indian Land High School will add one more foreign language to their roster: sign language. The school currently only offers Spanish as a foreign language, and students have expressed interest in the added course.

South Carolina currently classifies sign language as an elective, however, the officials are in the process of reclassifying it as a foreign language so it can be included in schools across the state.

No word yet on whether the other schools in York County will be adding sign language to their foreign language offerings, but if the classes at Indian Lane are successful, one can predict the other area schools will be quick to get on board!
